Dear Leggett Valley Unified School District:
My name is Jeff Ritchley, and it is an honor to serve as Superintendent and Principal of Leggett Valley Unified School District. Over the past six months, I have been learning and observing the Leggett Valley and Whale Gulch way of life. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that LVUSD has the most dedicated and hardest working teachers I have ever had the honor to serve alongside. As a rural school district leader, I have learned all the advantages of the Leggett Valley School District four day a week educational model. This model really meets the needs of our families in our district. As your Superintendent, I have three goals for this year. My first goal is to improve communication. We have implemented a new district website named Thrillshare that is also a communication device that interfaces with social media. My second goal is to improve our relationships with community organizations so that our students receive better all around social services. Finally, my third and final goal is to improve student achievement. Over the course of the next six months it is my goal to start a literacy program, and other interventions to assist in any learning loss from the pandemic.
